Founded in 2019, Jewel Photo and Travel began as a boudoir photography studio serving the Des Moines area. We built a dedicated studio on our property and have been honored to help women rediscover self-love, confidence, and appreciation for themselves through the experience.
A few years later, we expanded into hosting group journeys. Many women want to travel but lack of someone to go with. We often grow up with a close-knit circle of friends, only to have life pull us in different directions. These journeys are about reconnecting with that sense of sisterhood and creating a new tribe of women.
I fell in love with Isla Mujeres, Mexico—not only because its name means “Island of Women,” but because of its rich heritage, culture, and spirit. Nowhere else have I experienced such a perfect balance of peace and joy. Sharing that experience with other women is deeply meaningful to me, and each journey includes our signature flowing-dress photo sessions. We invite you to join us on this unforgettable adventure.
